Georgian, circa 1820. 10.2ins high, 14.6ins wide, 1.8ins deep. English Antique Felt and Silkwork Flower basket Appliqué Embroidery. The embroidery is worked in felt and cotton on a brown felt ground, in a variety of stitches. Colours browns, blue, cream and greens.
Scene depicts a basket of flowers and has been created by applying felt motifs, which have then been delicately stitched over.
Framed in an old maple frame with gilt slip and glass. Mounting: The embroidery is stitched to linen that is stretched over a wood board. Frame backed with card.
CONDITION: Generally Good. A few holes. Some stitch losses to flowers and basket.
Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading. No colour run. The top and the bottom of the embroidery has been slightly overframed.
Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
