Staffordshire Pearlware Musicians & Sheep Bocage Figure

pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 9.1ins high, 4.7ins wide, 3.7ins depth. Staffordshire Pottery pearlware bocage figure with a musical theme which features a couple seated before a tree, playing musical instruments. Sheep and dogs around them, seated on a shaped base.

Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Open bottomed.

CONDITION: Good. Chip to the end of his clarinet and chip to leaf on reverse.

Some small flakes to animal's ears.

Paint losses to ground.

RESTORATION. Reglued leaf on bocage.

Her left arm and top of lute with restoration.

Retouched paint losses to ground, reverse, lute and bocage.
