pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 13ins high, 8.3ins wide, 4.7ins depth. Staffordshire Pottery pearlware bust with a classical theme which features the head and shoulders of a bearded gentleman, wearing a robe, resting on a plinth base.
The piece is titled, 'PLATO' .
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
This piece represents Plato, the Ancient Greek philosoper.
CONDITION: Good. No restoration.
Chips and flakes to plinth and robe.
A few paint losses to his hair,
KILN EFFECTS: kiln soot caught in the glaze to his nose.
