Pair Majolica Blackamoor Figures Holding Baskets

Victorian, circa 1880. Tallest is 15.6ins high, 7.5ins wide, 6.3ins depth. Pair of Majolica figurals which feature blackamoors holding baskets.

Colouration: dark pink, ochre, blue, are predominant.

 

Condition

CONDITION: Female: Good.

KILN EFFECTS: glaze pops to lady, basket and ground;

a few specks of kiln grit caught in the glaze to the ground;

piece of kiln detritus caught inside causing piece to rattle.

RESTORATION. Head reglued and join retouched.

Male: Good.

KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln grit caught in the glaze to man and ground.

RESTORATION. Head reglued and join retouched.

Filled chip to lower base edge.
