Antique Silkwork Embroidery of Lady, Child & Dog

Circa 1830. 9.75ins by 7ins wide. Antique Silkwork Embroidery Picture of Mum, child & dog (Continental Europe, possibly French). Framed in an old, gilded, gesso frame with rippled, old glass (framer's label indicates framing in c.1914).

The embroidery is worked in silk on a felt-like ground. Colours browns, cream, green, pink, blues and grey.

Subject is a country/rural scene, a lady with her child and playful dog in the foreground.

CONDITION: Generally Good. Two holes which have been filled with a white paste.

A few broken threads.

A few bits of debris under the glass.

Frame showing slight wear, otherwise sound.
