Staffordshire Pottery pearlware figure with a mythological theme which features Diana, pulling an arrow from her quiver, stood on a square base. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Vent hole to the underside. This piece represents Diana - the Roman goddess of the hunt, the moon and birthing. Book reference ,'English Earthenware Figures 1740-1840' by Pat Halfpenny, page 180, figure 1.
