
pre-Victorian, circa 1800. 8.7ins high, 3.5ins wide, 2.8ins depth. Staffordshire Pottery pearlware figure with a classical theme which features a lady wrapped in a shawl, holding a cornucopia of flowers, stood on a square base.
Multi-coloured version. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Vent hole to the underside.
This piece represents Ceres, the Greek goddess of agriculture.
Maker's marks painted to the underside.
CONDITION: Good.
Tiny chips to flower posy.
Small flake to left foot and reverse.
KILN EFFECTS: fleck of stray yellow glaze to her cheek.
RESTORATION. Neck reglued and join retouched.
