Staffordshire Pearlware Apollo Figure

pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 12.6ins high, 4.9ins wide, 4.1ins depth. Staffordshire Pottery pearlware figure with a mythological theme, which features Apollo

playing the lyre, stood on a square base.

Multi-coloured version. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Vent hole to the underside.

This piece represents Apollo - the Greek God of music.

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good.

Tiny abrasion to nose.

KILN EFFECTS: touch mark to left thigh.

RESTORATION. Both forearms remodelled.

Lyre remodelled.
