Barbizet Palissy Majolica fish, lizard and insects platter

Victorian, circa 1870. 12.2ins high, 17.3ins wide, 2.6ins depth. Barbizet French Palissy Majolica platter which features eight fish,

a lizard, insects, blackberries, acorns and leaves.

Colouration: green, blue, brown, are predominant.

Condition

CONDITION: Good.

Chip to one moth wing.

KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage cracks to a few of the leaves and one of the fish's tails;

a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the front.

RESTORATION. A moth wing reglued.
