Minton Majolica Goldfinch Pot & Cover

Victorian, circa 1869. 2.8ins high, 4.1ins wide, 3.9ins depth. Minton Majolica trinket box which features a bird (goldfinch) sitting in it's nest.

Colouration: brown, green, black, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, '1415'.

Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1869.

Condition

CONDITION: Cover: Good.

KILN EFFECTS: touch mark to the underside.

RESTORATION. Tail reglued and join retouched.

Box: Good. No restoration.

Tight hairline to rim.

KILN EFFECTS: glaze run to the interior of the rim.
