Holdcroft Majolica Bird and Mouse Wall Pocket

Victorian, circa 1876. 10.2ins high, 5.5ins wide, 3.9ins depth. Holdcroft Majolica wall pocket which features a bird and a mouse on a nest,

surrounded by oak leaves and acorns. The bird has it's foot tied to the branch.

Colouration: turquoise, green, grey, are predominant.

English diamond registration mark for the date 19/06/1876.

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good.

Some small flakes to mouse's ear and bird's beak.

KILN EFFECTS: glaze accumulation to the reverse.

RESTORATION. Bird's right wing and tip of one acorn leaf reglued and join retouched.

Retouched flakes to some of the acorn leaves.

Bird tail reglued and join retouched.

Retouching to birds left foot.
