Majolica Fish Sugar Pot and Cover

Victorian, circa 1880. 4.3ins high, 4.1ins wide, 4.1ins depth. Majolica pot and cover which features fish swimming over corals.

Cobalt blue ground version. Colouration: cobalt blue, grey, brown, are predominant.

Condition

CONDITION: Cover: Good. Slight wear to exterior.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to under rim.

Retouched flake to inner rim.

Pot: Good. No restoration. Some wear to exterior.

KILN EFFECTS: touch mark to one fish' tail;

kiln grit caught in the glaze to the interior.
