Mintons Majolica Dog Desk Stand (Rare)

Victorian, circa 1876. 7.9ins high, 15.4ins wide, 7.1ins depth. Mintons Majolica desk stand which features a dog/hound sat on a plinth. Lidded inwells at either end and pen trays on both sides.

Colouration: cobalt blue, turquoise, brown, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Mintons pottery. Bears a pattern number, '1980'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1876.

 

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good. KILN EFFECTS: glaze run to the green glaze;

notable crazing.

RESTORATION. Inkwell lids are remodelled replacements.

Filled chips to rims, ears, collar loop and scrolls to feet.
