Antique Sampler, 1843, Alphabets and Numbers

Victorian, dated 1843. 17.25ins by 8ins wide. 1843 Alphabet Sampler. Framed in a modern wood frame with glass.

Glued to card.

The sampler is worked in wool on linen ground, in cross stitch and Algerian eye.

Simple line border.

Colours red, cream, green, black, purple, blue and brown.

Alphabets A-Z in upper case and numbers 1-15 and family initials.

Signed and dated 'BMK 1843'.

A scattering of motifs.

CONDITION: Generally good.

No stains, other than uniform age darkening of the ground.

Some stitch losses to divider lines, letters of the alphabets and numbers.

Some colours a bit faded.

Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
