Stitched to linen.

The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in cross stitch throughout.

Meandering floral border.

Colours blue, cream, green and brown.

Signed and dated

'Mary Francis 1284' (he 2 and the 8 were stitched in reverse).

A scattering of motifs, including flowers,

hearts,

crowns

and potted flowering plants.

CONDITION: Good. Colours are slightly faded, but still well defined.

No colour run.

Stretching is slightly uneven.

Frame showing wear and retouched chips, but structurally sound.
