Framed in an old, possibly original, black, ebonised wood frame with glass.
Fixed to card.
The sampler is worked in silk on canvas ground, in an impressive variety of stitches and techniques, including cut and drawn work.
Colours red, cream, blue, light brown, copper, green and pink.
Signed with initials and dated
'HL 1810'.
CONDITION: Good. No holes. No stains.
Some stitch losses and a couple of loose threads to the panels and border.
Colours are slightly faded, but still well defined.
No colour run.
Unevenly stretched.
Frame showing slight wear, otherwise sound.
