Staffordshire Pottery Sir Robert Peel on horse figure

Victorian, circa 1860. 10.6ins high, 8.7ins wide, 3.1ins depth.

Staffordshire Pottery figure with a political theme which features Sir Robert Peel on a horse, stood on an oblong base.

The piece is titled,

'Sir, R Peel' .

Dull gilt title and embellishment. Flatback, decorated mainly to the front.

Vent hole to the underside.

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good.

Some rubbing to gilt.

KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage cracks, one to the underside and one to the reverse of the base.

RESTORATION. Head reglued and join retouched.

Remodelled forearm and left hand.

Filled and retouched chips to brim of hat and nose.
