Victorian, circa 1860. 8.5ins high, 5.9ins wide, 5.9ins depth.

Staffordshire Pottery tobacco jar and cover which features a monkey amongst strawberries and leaves, stood directly on the ground, no base.

Dull gilt embellishment.

Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Condition

CONDITION: Cover: Good. No restoration.

Slight rubbing to gilt.

Slight wear to finial.

KILN EFFECTS: over glazed bruise to the flange.

Pot: Good. No restoration.

A few paint losses to leaves.

Slight rubbing to gilt.

Slight wear to rim.
