Staffordshire Pottery tobacco jar and cover which features a Pierrot with a Putti
sat on his shoulder, seated on a circular base.
The piece is titled,
'TOBACCO' .
Dull gilt title and embellishment.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
CONDITION: Cover: Generally good.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: notable crazing;
over glazed shrinkage line to the Putti's left shoulder.
RESTORATION. Filled chips to both rims.
Jar: Generally good. No restoration.
A few paint losses to barrel and rim.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to the foot rim.
