Staffordshire Pottery 'Death of Nelson' Figure

Victorian, circa 1860. 8.7ins high, 7.1ins wide, 3.1ins depth. Staffordshire Pottery figure with a military theme which features Nelson with two officers either side, stood on an oblong base.

The piece is titled, 'Death of Nelson' .

Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version. Dull gilt embellishment. Flatback, decorated mainly to the front.

Vent holes to the underside. Maker's marks painted to the underside.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. Small flake to the lower base edge.

A few paint losses to clothing and seat.

Some rubbing to gilt.

KILN EFFECTS: notable crazing.

RESTORATION. Old retouching to Nelson's trousers, all three's hair and shoes.
