
Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 8.1ins high, 5.1ins wide, 3.9ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire Pottery figures which feature a Disraeli spaniel (The curls on the head represent Disraeli's, elected Prime Minister 1868 and Queen Victoria’s favourite),
with blue eyes, carrying a flower basket, seated directly on the ground, no base.
Black and white version. Dull gilt embellishment.
Flatback, decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.
CONDITION: Right facing: Good.
A few paint losses to muzzle and flower basket.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: notable crazing;
flecks of stray black glaze to front of spaniel.
RESTORATION. Retouched paint losses to paws and pupils.
Left facing: Good.
Small flake to basket.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: firing hole to right side of basket;
notable crazing.
RESTORATION. Retouching to eyes, paws and face.
Stabilised and retouched hairline to reverse.
Filled chip to front right paw.
