Pair of Staffordshire Pottery dogs which feature a spaniel with a curly tail, seated directly on the ground, no base.
Russet and white version. Bright gilt embellishment.
Flatback, decorated only to the front.
Vent hole to reverse of one. Maker's marks painted to the underside.
CONDITION: Right facing: Good. No restoration.
A few paint losses to tail and muzzle.
Rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln grit caught in the glaze to the under side of base;
flecks of stray coloured glaze to the reverse.
