
Victorian, circa 1860. 6.3ins high, 9.4ins wide, 5.9ins depth. Staffordshire Pottery egg tureen and cover which features a duck and her duckling, resting on a basketweave oval base. White and gilt version. Dull gilt embellishment.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Cover: Good. No restoration. One small flake to rim.
A few small flakes/chips to the inner flange.
A few paint losses to the green ground.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: small firing pit to rim and one to tail feathers;
shrinkage crack to the rim, under the tail feathers;
over glazed shrinkage line along the mold join.
Base: Good. No restoration. Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECT: tiny over glazed chip to the rim.
