
Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 7.7ins high, 5.5ins wide, 3.1ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire Pottery dogs which feature a spaniel, seated directly on the ground, no base.
Black and white version. Dull gilt collar and locket.
Flatback, decorated only to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.
Maker's marks painted to the underside.
CONDITION: Right facing: Good. No restoration. Small flake to left front paw.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: craze lines to the reverse and underside;
thin glaze application to areas on the black patches.
Left facing: Good. No restoration. Flake to the nose.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to the base edge;
thin glaze application to areas on the black patches.
