Staffordshire Bulldog Head Box with Pewter Cover

Victorian, circa 1860. 3.9ins high, 3.9ins wide, 4.7ins depth.

Staffordshire Pottery tobacco jar and cover which features a bulldog head, stood directly on the ground, no base.

Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Condition

Good. No restoration. Some flakes to metal collar and lid.

Some paint losses to collar.

Slight wear to muzzle, lower jaw, ears and cheeks.

KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze.
