JFS Palissy Majolica Fruit Wall Plate

Circa 1890. 7.1ins high, 7.1ins wide, 2.4ins depth. Jose Francisco de Sousa Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features fruit, nuts and leaves to the front.

Colouration: green, brown, light brown, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Jose Francisco de Sousa pottery.

 

Condition

CONDITION: Very good. No restoration. KILN EFFECTS: a couple of pieces kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the front;

touch mark to one of the strawberries.
