
Circa 1890. 9.1ins high, 9.1ins wide, 2.8ins depth. Mafra Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features
lizards, salamanders, a tortoise and a toad.
Colouration: green, brown, ochre, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Mafra pottery (this is faint and barely readable). Bears a pattern number, '6'.
CONDITION: Good. No restoration.
Small chips to both lizard's claws (some of these were done during manufacture).
Chip to foot rim.
Some flaking to green shredded clay.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze pop to one lizard.
