F. Gomes D'Avellar Palissy Majolica Fruit Platter

Circa 1890. 11.8ins high, 18.1ins wide, 3.5ins depth. F. Gomes D'Avellar Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plaque which features fruit, including: grapes, an orange, apples, pears and a cucumber.

Colouration: green, green, cream, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the F. Gomes D'Avellar pottery.

 

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good. Orange paint on the orange has flaked off.

KILN EFFECTS: over glazed chips to the rim;

glaze run to the green glaze.

RESTORATION. Filled chips to rim and leaves.

Remodelled stalk to orange.
