Mafra Majolica Palissy Mouse Candlestick

Victorian, circa 1890. 6.1ins high, 3.5ins wide, 3.5ins depth. Mafra Majolica candlestick holder which features a mouse climbing a tree.

Colouration: brown, green, ochre, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Mafra pottery.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. Small flakes to green shredded.

KILN EFFECTS: kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the exterior;

glaze run to the green glaze.

RESTORATION. Remodelled right ear.

Retouched flakes to lower base edge.
