Majolica Palissy Tortoise Figure

Victorian, circa 1890. 1.8ins high, 3.7ins wide, 2.4ins depth. Majolica figural which features a tortoise resting on a rock. Colouration: brown, cobalt blue, ochre, are predominant.

Condition

Good. Tiny chip to underside base edge.

Some small flakes to shredded clay and one to edge of tortoise shell.

RESTORATION: head reglued. The join is only visible on very close inspection.
