
Circa 1890. 5.6ins high, 5.6ins wide, 2.2ins depth. Jose A Cunha Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features a snake, frog, moths, beetle and grub. Colouration: green, brown, ochre, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Jose A Cunha pottery. Bears a pattern number, 'No 6'.
Good. Some small, minor flakes to the shredded clay, foot rim and under rim.
RESTORATION: Remodelled section of the snake.
Filled chip to one moth's antenna.
Retouched flakes to beetle's leg and jaw.
