Minton Majolica Buttercup Jug/Pitcher

Victorian, circa 1866. 6.5ins high, 5.5ins wide, 4.3ins depth. Minton Majolica jug/pitcher which features buttercups.

Colouration: brown, lilac, ochre, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. English diamond registration mark for the date 14/05/1855.

Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1866.

Condition

CONDITION: Very good. No restoration. Light scratches from use.

KILN EFFECTS: kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the exterior;

shrinkage line to rim, by the handle.
