Minton Majolica 9 Well Oyster Plate

Victorian, circa 1867. 9.8ins high, 9.8ins wide, 0.7ins depth.

Minton Majolica oyster plate which features shell shaped wells surrounding a central cockle bordered circular well.

Turquoise ground version.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery.

Bears a pattern number, '1324'. English diamond registration mark for the date 26/03/1867.

Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1867.

Condition

CONDITION: Very good. No restoration.

KILN EFFECTS: piece of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to one shell;

small firing pits to shells.
