French Majolica Swan & Bulrush Platter

Victorian, circa 1880. 13ins high, 18.9ins wide, 2ins depth. Majolica platter which features swans on the water amongst bulrushes.

Colouration: ochre, white, cobalt blue, are predominant.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. Small chip to foot rim.

Some small flakes to rim, base and a couple to the leaves.

KILN EFFECTS: glaze miss to lily pad;

flecks of stray cobalt glaze to the water.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to under rim.

Swan's neck reglued and joins retouched.
