Minton Majolica centrepiece bowl which features two mermaids supporting a large shell, with seaweed to the base.
Colouration: turquoise, brown, cream, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery.
Bears a pattern number, '1182'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1871.
CONDITION: Very good. No restoration.
Tight hairline to two garlands.
Some small flakes to fins.
Some wear to interior.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze miss to parts of hair;
flecks of stray coloured glaze to their faces.
