
Victorian, circa 1867. 10ins high, 10ins wide, 0.8ins depth. Minton Majolica oyster plate which features nine shell shaped wells with seashell surrounds.
Mottled ground version. Colouration: green, brown, cream, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery.
Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1867.
CONDITION: Very good. No restoration.
Small flakes to reverse.
KILN EFFECTS: notable crazing;
glaze pops to the reverse;
a few specks of kiln grit caught in the glaze to the wells.
