
Victorian, circa 1880. Tallest is 14ins high, 6.3ins wide, 5.1ins depth. Pair of Adams & Bromley Majolica ewers which feature various mythological creatures and swan head handles. Colouration: turquoise, turquoise, ochre, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Adams & Bromley pottery.
Ewer 1: Very good. No restoration. A small flake just below the rim.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to the handle on boy's neck
and further down the handle;
a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze.
Ewer 2: Very good. No restoration. KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack along centre of handle.
Shrinkage crack to boy's neck;
glaze miss to the spout.
