Minton Majolica Acorn and Snail Jug/pitcher

Victorian, circa 1869. 7.5ins high, 6.3ins wide, 4.9ins depth. Minton Majolica jug/pitcher with lid

which features oak leaves and acorns and a snail molded on the handle.

Colouration: brown, green, ochre, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery.

Bears a pattern number, '553'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1869.

Condition

CONDITION: Very good. No restoration.

Slight wear to the high points of the molding.

KILN EFFECTS: firing hole to the snail.
