
Victorian, circa 1870. 4.3ins high, 7.7ins wide, 8.9ins depth. Minton Majolica sardine box which features three fish lying on a seaweed bed. Turquoise ground version. Colouration: turquoise, green, ochre, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, '1383'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1870.
Cover: Very good. No restoration. Small shallow chip and flake to underside of flange inner rim.
Dish: Very good. No restoration. Bruise to underside corner of lower rim.
KILN EFFECTS: three craze lines to the upper rim.
