Minton Majolica Putti and Mermaid Pitcher

Victorian, circa 1863. 12.6ins high, 7.5ins wide, 7.5ins depth. Minton Majolica jug/pitcher with a mythological theme

which features a putti being held aloft by a mermaid on one side and a merman on the other.

Colouration: green, brown, cobalt blue, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, '474'.

Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1863.

Condition

CONDITION: Good.

KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus the ground.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to the rim.
