Minton Majolica Chinese Dragon Garden Seat

Victorian, circa 1880. 18.3ins high, 16.1ins wide, 13.6ins depth.

Mintons Majolica garden seat which features Chinese dragon and snake panels to the sides.

Colouration: green, brown, ochre, are predominant.

 

The piece bears maker's marks for the Mintons pottery. Bears a pattern number, '786'.

Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1880.

Condition

CONDITION: Good.

Small flake to edge of green on top.

Some minor flakes to the yellow rope border.

Slight wear to the top of the seat.

RESTORATION. Some small filled chips.

One snake nose reglued and join retouched.

Two stabilised and retouched hairlines.
