Majolica Elephant Head Lamp Base

Circa 1900. 13.4ins high, 7.9ins wide, 6.5ins depth. Majolica lamp base which features leaves and flowers in relief with elephant head handles.

Brass base and screw fitting at the top with metal liner.

Lamp fittings are removable and appear to be original.

Colouration: brown, blue, puce, are predominant.

Condition

CONDITION: Good.

Small flake to one elephant's eye.

KILN EFFECT: slight glaze run to the blue glaze.

RESTORATION: All to the same elephant - filled chip and retouched bruise to tusk.

Retouched flake to trunk.

Brass fittings: Wear and age related tarnishing.
