
George III, circa 1800. 22.5ins high by 12ins wide. Circa 1800 Darning panel/sampler. Framed in an old wood frame with gilt slip and glass.
Mounted onto acid free card with satin and chipboard backing.
The sampler is worked in cotton and silk on linen ground.
Colours: Red and white.
Square panels worked in a wonderful variety of stitches and techniques including cut and drawn work.
Floral and geometric bands to the top and bottom.
CONDITION: Generally good.
Possible repair across the middle where it appears there is a stitched join between the top and bottom half.
No holes.
A few dark stain specks.
A couple of loose threads to the panels.
Stretching is slightly uneven.
Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
