Staffordshire Cow Butter Dish & Cover

Victorian, circa 1870. 5.3ins high, 8.1ins wide, 6.3ins depth. Staffordshire Pottery butter dish with a pastoral theme which features a cow

on the lid, resting on an oval milk churn-like dish base.

Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Impressed pattern registration diamond for 6th November 1868 to base and interior of cover.

Condition

CONDITION: Cover: Good.

A few paint losses to black markings.

KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage line to the interior.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to tip of one horn.

Other horn remodelled.

Dish: Good. No restoration.

A few paint losses to black markings.

Some staining from use.

KILN EFFECTS: touch marks to the rim.
