Staffordshire Pottery figure which features Dick Turpin on his mare Black Bess, stood on an oval base.
The piece is titled, 'DICK TURPIN' . Dull gilt titles and embellishment.
Flatback, decorated mainly to the front.
Vent hole to the underside.
Maker's marks to the underside.
Good. No restoration.
Some paint losses to ground, Black Bess, Turpin's tie and facial detail.
Very slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: firing hole to upper base (not visible to front);
shrinkage crack to lower base edge at front (barely visible);
some cobalt glaze run;
specks of kiln grit and some stray coloured glaze to reverse.
