
Victorian, circa 1860. 7.3ins high, 7.1ins wide, 2.8ins depth. Staffordshire Pottery spill vase which features a wolf with its pup, stood on an oblong base. Dull gilt base line and embellishment.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Generally good. Small shallow flake to the underside of the base.
Some paint losses to face and bodies of wolf and pup.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage line above the pup;
staining to the underside.
RESTORATION: Wolf's left ear remodelled. Flake to wolf's right ear retouched.
Stabilised and retouched hairline and chip to rim of spill.
