
pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 7.9ins high, 5.8ins wide, 3ins depth. Staffordshire Pottery pearlware bocage group which features lady and gentleman gardeners, one holding a spade, the other a watering can, stood on an oval hollow base.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Generally good. Some chips to leaves and flowers
and one to base edge at side.
Small flakes to lady's hat and gent's knee.
KILN EFFECTS: touch mark to lower base edge at front and rear;
flecks of stray coloured glaze to gentleman;
the bocage tree leans forward slightly where it has moved during firing. It does however still sit firmly upright.
RESTORATION: Filled chips to four of the individual bocage leaves.
Lady's left arm and head and the flower pot reglued and joins retouched.
Stabilised and retouched crack to trunk on the reverse.
