Large Staffordshire Pottery 'chunky' Spaniel

Victorian, circa 1860. 12.6ins high, 7.1ins wide, 10.6ins depth. Staffordshire Pottery figure which features a 'chunky' spaniel,

seated directly on the ground, no base.

Copper lustre version.

Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Vent hole to the underside.

Condition

CONDITION: Good.

KILN EFFECTS: kiln detritus caught in the glaze;

flecks of stray coloured glaze to the face;

the lustre decoration is more green than copper.

RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched hairline to right front paw.

Retouched paint loss to eyes, eyebrows, muzzle and paws.
