Sherratt Staffordshire Pearlware Female 'Faith' figure

pre-Victorian, circa 1830. 7.7ins high, 4.9ins wide, 2.4ins depth.

Obadiah Sherratt Staffordshire Pottery pearlware bocage figure with a religious theme which features a lady standing in front of a bocage tree, holding a cross in her left hand, and a bible in her right.

Floral sprigs lie on the ground around her feet, stood on a square base.

Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Vent hole to the underside.

This piece represents Faith from the set of figures representing Faith, Hope and Charity.

Condition

Good. Small flake to bible.

Slight wear to reverse.

KILN EFFECTS: over glazed bruise to the base corner.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to top of cross.

One bocage section reglued and join retouched.
