Staffordshire Pearlware Pottery Apollo Figure

pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 13.2ins high, 5.1ins wide, 4.7ins depth. Staffordshire Pottery pearlware figure which features Apollo playing the lyre, stood on a square base.

Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Vent hole to the underside.

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good.

Small chip to him of sash at reverse.

Flaking to base,

books

and edges of sash.

Some paint losses to sash.

Slight wear to chin.

RESTORATION. Right wrist reglued and join retouched.

Remodelled left hand

and lyre.

Also, the tip of middle finger,

and one toe remodelled.

Retouched flakes to base.
